Omni Partners (“Omni”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Briefed, a Barrister-led training, compliance and technology business. The newly acquired company will merge with existing portfolio company, DMJ, a leading legal and governance talent search firm that Omni acquired in July 2022.
Founded in 2012 by experienced barrister and Northern Irish entrepreneur, Orlagh Kelly, Briefed delivers expert online support for professionals in legal and governance roles. Briefed’s bespoke business-focused advice and training on key employment and compliance legislation helps organisations meet their regulatory requirements and increases employee effectiveness.
Founded in 2007, DMJ is an award-winning agency and one of London’s largest talent search firms placing governance and legal professionals in private practice and in-house roles. Since its acquisition by Omni, DMJ has successfully professionalised its operations, strengthened its marketing efforts and implemented a more robust strategy, including diversification of its business model through the strategic bolt-on acquisition of Briefed.
Combining Briefed and DMJ creates a compelling integrated client offering. Orlagh Kelly will assume the role of CEO of the combined business with DMJ co-founders, David Press and Marc Tobias, becoming CCO and COO, respectively.
Steven Clark, Founder of Omni, said:
“We see a real opportunity for the combined business to become an innovative full-service talent manager that helps legal, corporate governance and compliance professionals match their talent with opportunities whilst supporting their professional development and growth at all stages of their career. We look forward to working closely with the team over the coming years to deliver their vision for the future.”
Orlagh Kelly, Founder and CEO, Briefed said:
“Omni has a proven history of empowering founders, and I’m excited to see them share my vision as Briefed joins forces with DMJ. Bringing together our model of providing the best barrister-led training, compliance, technology and leadership support with DMJ’s strength in matching legal and compliance specialists with the right opportunities creates an exciting new integrated offering for our clients. We cannot wait to get started on this new chapter!”
Mark Tobias, Co-Founder of DMJ, said:
“This strategic partnership with Briefed aligns perfectly with our growth ambitions. Our consultative approach of providing clients with high-calibre talent is an ideal combination with Briefed’s innovative professional development, training and learning offering for clients. There is a huge amount of untapped potential in this market, and we are confident that our combined proposition means we can provide clients with the full suite of talent management services that they require. The strong synergy between our organisations positions us well to deliver exceptional value.”
